Where is Nepal?
Nepal is a small but beautiful country. we can say "Nepal is a gourd between two rocks". It lies between 80 degree 12' east longitude and 26 degree 22' and 30 degree 27' north latitude. The altitude varies from 70 meter to the highest 8848 meter which include Mt. Everest. The population of our country is about 26 millions. Nepal, being a land-locked south Asian country , boarded by Tibet –China to the north and India to the east, west and south.
When is the best time to visit Nepal?
You can visit Nepal throughout the year but the weather in the mountains are pretty difficult to predict. In winter season, generally night is cold and days are sunny and beautiful when the sun comes up. And in summer season days are hot and nights are perfect. The best time to visit Nepal is spring season (March to May), when rhododendron blooms all along the trekking routes and autumn season (September to November), when there are more opportunities to face greeneries and unique floras.
Do I need a Visa to travel in Nepal?
To enter Nepal, Nepalese Visa is required for all foreign nationals except Indian citizens.
What do I need to get Visa?
You need valid passport, 2 passport size photos and visa fee $ 30.
Where can I get my Visa and how can I enter Nepal?
An easy way to get Nepalese Visa is from Immigration office at the entry points of Nepal. The other way to apply for Visa is from the Nepalese diplomatic mission in your home country. The most popular way to enter Nepal is to fly from your home country to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), Nepal. The other way is by land via different entry points (Sunauli, Kakarbhitta, Raxaul, Kodari etc.) at between India / China and Nepal. Kodari is between Nepal and Tibet and it is opened only for organized group, not for individual travelers heading north.
How long does the Visa valid and how can I extend my Tourist Visa?
After paying $ 30 at immigration office at any entry points of Nepal, you will get Nepalese Visa for 60 days. If you want to stay longer than 60 days, no doubt you can extend your Visa at the Immigration Department of Kathmandu or Pokhara for another 30 days and you will be charged $ 50 for this. Indeed the visa can be extended for a total of 120 days, an additional 30 days visa may be granted on reasonable grounds from the Immigration Office. Nevertheless, a tourist cannot stay in Nepal under tourist-visa for more than 150 cumulative days.
Who can trek?
Those person who is reasonably fit and enjoy walking, can trek. Normally the shorter treks tend to be easier whilst the longer ones often require a better standard of fitness. We are very happy to organize suitable trekking for our clients whether it is longer or shorter.
What is trekking permit and is it required?
Trekking permit is a special pass given to the trekkers by the Nepal Government after proceeding some criteria to some restricted areas like Upper Mustang, Kanchenjungha, Dolpa, Humla region etc. Only some trekking agencies can make these trekking permits but Vista Trek (P) Ltd. had already got authority to deal with it. The government of Nepal no longer requires a trekking permit for Everest, Annapurna, Langtang and some other regions. However conservation area entry permits or national park permits are required.

What is altitude sickness and what happens if I get sick?
Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), is a pathological condition that is caused by acute exposure to low air pressure (usually outdoors at high altitudes). It commonly occurs above 2,400 metres (approximately 8,000 feet). Acute mountain sickness can progress to high altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) or high altitude cerebral edema (HACE). • Dizziness or light-headedness
• Insomnia
• Pins and needles
• Shortness of breath upon exertion

What is the religion of Nepal and what are the basic customs should I know?
Nepal is a Hindu country. Hinduism is the biggest religion, about 80 percent of the total population are Hindu and rest are Buddhist, Muslim, Christianity, Sikh, Jains etc. respectively. These are the basic customs to have known.

* Ask for permission before entering a Hindu temple (some temples are forbidden to enter except Hindus)
* Taking photographs inside the most temples are considered illegal
* Ask for permission before taking photographs of objects, and including Nepali people.

What is the currency of Nepal?
Nepalese currency is spelled as Nepalese Rupees or Rupee (In Nepal called as Rupaiya) or Nepali Rupee, and in short it is written NRS or RS. 100 Paisa equals 1 Rs. Currently Notes of the following denominations are used: 1000, 500, 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 2, and 1 rupees. Coin hasn't been popular in Nepal and hence is almost always ignored in business. The coins of the following denominations can be found: 1 paisa, 5 paisa, 10 paisa, 50 paisa and 1 Rs, 2 Rs, and 5 Rs. It is recommended that you travel with smaller notes in less populated areas, while large notes are easily accepted else where.

What are health requirements to visit Nepal and to do trekking?
Nepal does not require any specific immunization for visitors. It is however best to have vaccine before coming to Nepal. Your doctors can advice you on the type of vaccine to be taken to travel to third world countries like Nepal.
